Our WILDFOX Love Affair!
Once upon a time in 2007, we fell in love with a WILDFOX
We call it Fate
Way back in 2007, when Spoiled Brat was 2 years old, we were surfing the internet and stumbled across some quirky sweaters by a little known brand called – WHITEHORSE COUTURE. Instantly it was love & so our 9 year love affair consumed.
Since then, Whitehorse, has become the cult worldwide phenomenon brand Wildfox which is lusted after by the a-list of celebrities and bloggers alike.
For those of you who dont know this brand (first of all, where have you been?!) … but really this is a vintage-inspired women’s fashion brand based in LA LA Land. It was co-created by two childhood BFF’s, who were inspired by their mutual love for vintage t-shirts and their friendship.
Today, the brand continues with this ethos, under the Creative Direction of founding partner Kimberley Gordon.
We have yet to meet anyone who doesnt like this quirky brand – to be honest, we really don’t understand how people cannot like Wildfox?! There is really nothing not to like about them – their lookbooks rock, we spend hours lusting over them. They are super inspiring, super fun and girly and literally made for us. They talk to us – they read our dreams!
Our reasons for LOVING Wildfox :
Their t-shirts always relate to our life and are funny with guarantees to make you happy 🙂
Yeah ….. this is awkward
You can wear them to literally ANY event – even a wedding (and we have!)
Wildfox has a t-shirt for that. They have a crazy imagination. Whether you’re getting married, hungover, or love camping etc, they have something that you can instantly relate to. A top that’ll cheer you up every time you wear it! Worth it.
If you’re a sucker for nostalgia (like us!) then Wildfox reads your mind – they are psychic honestly!! The whole line is based off intangible things: friendship, good times, and good memories. We live for so many of their sayings.
Quality – Their fabrics are softer than anything you’ll ever touch.
Have you ever felt their beach jumpers? Just WOW!
Yes, we agree that their product is on the pricey side. But you will have no regrets here for the quality and comfort. Everything is made in the US from the most comfy blends & its all ethical fashion – check out our previous blog.
You pay for a product that will become a staple in your wardrobe faster than you’d ever believe.
Something you’ll want to LIVE in as soon as you put it on.
To sum it all up – Wildfox is more than a brand, it’s a lifestyle.
The slogans, words, and dreams that are us.
That is why we heart Wildfox.
You can wear wildfox clothing and make whatever statement you want!

Bella Thorne Off Duty Style in Lauren Moshi
Bella Thorne found fame as a disney star, but the now 19 year old has evolved into quite the fashionista in recent years, developing her own unique grungy style. Bella isn’t afraid to experiment with fashion, which is something we love about her.
She was snapped out with a gal pal in California yesterday, in typical Bella style! Wearing an oversized purple hoodie, matched up with our Lauren Moshi cashmere silver star statement beanie, white perforated leggings, HUF socks and – topping off her look – a pair of coordinating converse Stan Smith’s, Bella managed to effortlessly stylish.
It also seems that Bella has developed a love affair with one of our fav brands from the States, Lauren Moshi. She is regularly snapped wearing some of their pieces. In our blog post yesterday, we discussed the reasons for buying designer brands like Lauren Moshi. Its a family run brand, started by a brother and sister team. They hand draw and design everything in house. Its completely unique, and there is so much time and passion put into this brand. Everything is then ethically produced by them, in house. The quality of their product is second to none. It washes amazingly , and the fabric literally hangs off your body. Its quite simply devine – and the graphic artwork gives you a piece of fashion which you can dress up or down as you wish. The great thing is , everything that is produced, is done so in limited quantities – making it very special and unique. Their whole brand ethos is based on a clothing range, which is targeted towards customers who appreciate the finer details and intricate designs.
Bella’s exact beanie, is a cashmere black beanie, with silver embroidered stars. Its so warm, and such high quality – which will never go out of fashion.

The Only Way is Designer.
When you want to treat yourself to some new clothes, the temptation is to go to the likes of Primark and spend £5-10 on a new top!
Well we want to change that by giving you our 5 reasons to buy designer luxury, brands like wildfox, the laundry room and chaser brand – and here’s why……
1 : Designer Tees are Ethically Made!
This is our main reason for investing into a luxury tee.
Jerseys & knits, are very easy to make. The design is simple, the fabric is very easy to manage on a sewing machine and it literally takes seconds to sew. Did you know that tshirts are one of the cheapest items, to buy because they are also the cheapest to produce! Most t-shirts that cost under £20.00 are either made in mass quantities overseas, where there is little or no regulation, big fabric waste and in some cases by labourers, who are not being paid fairly and even children.
Look for American made brands like Wildfox or The Laundry Room. These brands are all made in the USA. Or even smaller brands like The Ragged Priest – all made in house in the UK, by a small team. So you are supporting local businesses, and real people – who believe in their product.
2. Better fabrics change the game:
Better fabrics, like modal, terry or organic cottons take the design and fit to a whole new level. We absolutely love the unique and special prints and fabrics used by the likes of Lauren Moshi and Wildfox.
But if terry t-shirts are not your thing, look out for organic cottons. The industrialized cotton industry has high rates of suicide in India and cancers in farmers inside the US. Shopping for organic cotton not only helps smaller farmers, it’s also better for our body.
This Laundry Room Tee has a speciality knit fabric
3. Better Design:
Fast fashion companies knock off designs within minutes of hitting the shelves sometimes bluntly stealing work from fashion designers. Buying from companies like Primark , has a strong impact in the fashion industry: those companies force the industry to work faster leaving no time for the incubation of ideas.
By shopping for luxury tees you are not only paying for a simple t-shirt, you are breeding creativity from design to photos, lots of people are getting paid by you! You are supporting small brands like Ragged Priest – in house designed and made, something they are very proud of. And the Laundry Room – a family company who do everything in house.
Just look at Wildfox, Laundry Room and The Ragged Priest, you will see that their designs are not only more exclusive, they’re also much more unique. Do you really want to look like everyone else? Or be an individual.
4. T-Shirts are everyday pieces:
We wear a t-shirt pretty much every day! We see them as investment pieces, as they are super versatile you can dress up and dress down. When you invest in a luxury t-shirt, you know you will be wearing it for years.
For example a Lauren Moshi t-shirt costs over £50.00, but since I will be using it many times over a long period, the cost of wearing that t-shirt is about £0.00! While a t-shirt you buy from Primark – which we hold our hands up, we have done, usually can only be worn once or twice, they dont wash well or keep their shape and they bobble real quick.
5. A more fashionable wardrobe!
Anyone who loves their fashion, know where to spend their money and a survey taken shows that most agree basics should be the most expensive pieces in your wardrobe – because these are worn most!
These pieces should be affordable enough for you not to go broke, but expensive enough that they seem like a treat to buy. The great thing also with investing into a luxury tee, is that you can mix them up with other pieces.
Lauren Moshi tees are all hand designed and hand printed in LA, but a family. They make the nicest, unique designs and they tees literally hang off your body like a glove. The fabric lasts forever and its great for mixing up with other garments.
Hopefully this has convinced you to invest your hard earned cash into more luxury garments.

Perrie Edwards wows in our Lavish Alice Two Piece
Perrie Edwards has been busy promoting Little Mix’s new book, with her bandmates, this week.
Their latest single Shout Out To My Ex has given them their fourth UK number one. And Little Mix were able to enjoy the achievement with fans on Saturday, when they signed copies of their new book Our World at Waterstones bookstore in London.
The bandmates dressed to impress at the event, but Perrie Edwards stood out for us, as she opted for a a stylish pale lilac co-ord set, by Lavish Alice which consisted of a matching ankle-length high-waisted skirt, teamed with a bardot wrap around crop top. Her dark eye make-up contrasted with her golden locks, and she finished her outfit with silver heels.
This new Lavish Alice two piece, is part of the new AW16 range. Its a soft knitted two piece, which comes in a easy to wear lilac colour. Its perfect for the colder weather and can be dressed up like Perrie , or dressed down with chunky tights and boots. The top and skirt are bought as separates so you can wear on their own, or buy them together.

Lavish Alice is features on Lurch Hound Loves latest blog post.
Charlotte (aka Lurch Hound Loves) discusses the knitwear trend for AW16, in her latest blog post, and within it features our Lavish Alice coord – the LA Knitted Culottes and matching Tunic top.
In her own words :
“THE NEW KNITWEAR RULES
Although I am a sun worshipper at heart, nothing fills me with more delight than when the leaves start to brown and fall from their trees and my knitwear collection is unpacked from the attic as I rotate my wardrobe offering from Spring / Summer to Autumn / Winter. Which is a seasonal ritual of mine that I need to factor some time in for ASAP.
Knitwear is cosy, warm and comfortable. It hides a multitude of sins, including food babies and opting for Winter snuggles on the sofa, rather than burning calories in the gym. Knitwear is also the ultimate layering piece and this year knitwear is a style statement too!
It looks as though knitted two pieces – such as this lovely Lavish Alice knitwear culottes and tunic set that I am wearing in this post – are going nowhere and that knitwear has been taken to the max with frills, cut outs and a whole lot of sass this Autumn / Winter.
KNITWEAR TRENDS AW16
Whether you are deciding what knitwear to revive in your wardrobe for the new season, or are looking to invest in some on trend pieces. Below is a run through of the top knitwear fashion trends for Autumn / Winter 2016-2017″
Knitwear has become totally on trend, and can come in all styles now – knitted dresses are great for winter with chunky tights & boots – its not all about knitted jumpers now!

Gigi Hadid at Paris Fashion Week, in Lavish Alice
Gigi Hadid wows at Paris Fashion Week, wearing Lavish Alice
Gigi Hadid has been travelling around the globe in the past few months, hitting the catwalk for various different Fashion Week shows. She never fails to look anything but gorgeous, even in between work and travel (something we really do envy – as when we have been travelling, we look horrendous!)
Gigi arrived in Paris, at the start of this week and was snapped leaving a hotel yesterday, and certainly showed why she’s one of the most stylish women on the planet, wearing this well put together, bang on trend outfit. Gigi teamed a pair of baggy low slung boyfriend jeans, with a white knotted front crop top and a statement longline bomber jacket in this seasons hottest most sought after fabric – velvet.
You might have noticed that velvet is a key trend right now, featured on everything from winter boots, dresses, jewellery and even trousers. Gigi’s chic camel coloured bomber is from British Label of the moment, Lavish Alice and its a great way to tap into the trend, without going overboard! She completed the look with a pair of sexy lace-up heeled boots in the same hue which added some height to her frame (not that she needs it!)

Get to know Tallulahs Threads ……
Tallulahs Threads – Interview
First off let us introduce this cool British label to you! Tallulah’s Threads, is an Independent brand which specialises in Alternative Clothing and Accessories for today’s Fashion loving gals. They sell hand made or hand finished garments, designed and made in their UK studio and they aim to be your go to choice for glittery, fun and kitsch clothing with a special touch that will get you noticed!
Founded by Fashion Designer Danni in 2014, the brand continues to grow from strength to strength producing versatile and wearable clothing. The small team have recently launched their 8th collection for winter 16 in which they take classic cuts and mix them with fun kawaii inspired motifs and patterns. We grabbed 5 minutes with designer and founded Danielle & wanted to share with you – so you can get to know the brand better too.
When did you get into fashion?
“I studied Fashion at Uni and graduated in 2011 but have always loved fashion and clothing. A few years ago my Mum dug out some old drawings of mine when I was a kid and it was a full catalogue of clothing with sizing and colour options, so it’s clearly always been an interest of mine. I worked for a few other designers as a pattern cutter after graduating and started Tallulah’s Threads as a Vintage brand in my spare time. After about a year I started designing a few pieces myself and before long I found that the brand was growing too quick for me to focus any time on anything else, so a year and a half ago I left my job and here we are.”
Could you describe the role that you play in the company?
“Currently I get stuck in with everything. We’re still a very small team so we all pitch in where needed. I design the collections each season and my daily routine includes sewing orders and just general management of the business”
Where does most of your inspiration come from?
“I would say it comes from a mix of my personal style and trends I see emerging on the street. I love anything glittery so I often try to incorporate that into my designs as much as possible”
Top memorable moments together or turning points in your line?
“This year has been great as we went to our first trade show at LondonEdge in February and returned in September. It’s so nice to see buyers and bloggers looking through our collection and generally loving it”
What are your favourite pieces from each collection?
“I really love the glitter motif dresses each season as I think they are stand out pieces. They can easily be dressed up or down, in cute motifs that will catch people’s eye. This season my absolute fave is our Silver Bomber jacket!”
Describe your personal style?
“My style is very similar to the brand, I feel that if it’s something I would love to wear then other people will too. You will always see me in a dress!”
Where do you see your brand in the future?
“I would be really happy if Tallulah’s Threads was a brand that gals could rely on to find something to wear that made them feel confident. My aim is to grow internationally as well as in the UK and build a good network of loyal customers who shop with us regularly”
