Rails – Lumberjack Chic
If you’ve spotted your favourite celebrity or blogger wearing an impossibly flattering plaid shirt in the last few years, then there’s a good chance it was made by American clothing brand, Rails.
What, you say, could possibly be so special about a button-down lumberjack style shirt? Well, the fashion forward sect can concede to the fact that stiff cotton shirts now take a backseat to more draped silhouettes that look relaxed, yet refined. Rails owner and LA boy, Jeff Abrams and his design team have cracked the code and established a brand which not only produces high quality garments, but effortlessly embodies the Southern California vibe, that consumers have been yearning after for years… think Wildfox and Lauren Moshi.
To the layman, a shirt is a shirt and on many levels, and yes although this notion is true, there is something more unique which is happening here! Because since the creation of the Rails brand in 2008, its signature button-down shirt have now become an “it girl” must-have. Celebrity fans of the brand include Supermodel Gisele Bundchen, Jessica Alba, Reese Witherspoon, Cheryl Cole, Una Foden and many many more; in addition to these there are top Fashion Bloggers like Chiara Ferragni of The Blonde Salad and Aimee Song of Song of Style, who constantly rave about these fun rails shirts.
“I started Rails at a time when celebrity influence was becoming exponentially more visible. Not only tabloids, but reputable fashion publications began covering celebrities’ daily lives and style”, Abrams shared. “Soon after came the emergence and popularity of bloggers and social media channels which gave us a global audience, but the growth of our celebrity following has been very organic; they are wearing our collection because they genuinely love the products.”
It all started with hats and hooded sweatshirts, Abrams shared. From there, he widened his scope to include a new take on button-down shirts: the staple that catapulted Rails to celebrity status. “When I first started making shirts, almost all of the button downs on the market were in some form of a stiff cotton fabrication”, Abrams recalls. “So I developed a unique tencel/rayon blended fabric that would maintain the classic shirting heritage, but that felt luxurious and draped in a sexier, more feminine way. We applied this concept to plaids, denims, solids, and prints, focusing on becoming experts on both fit and feel.” – Jeff Abrams , Rails Creator
Rails is now a top seller in contemporary fashion. Numbers don’t lie; the company has seen 300% growth year-over-year, with no sign of slowing.

BLOW Hair Salons’ Roisin has guest blogged for US!
We were approached by our now favourite hair salon, BLOW to supply clothes for a photo shoot they were doing for their new Party Hair brand & we immediately jumped at the chance!
If you havent heard of BLOW – then you need to look it up … like NOW! Its the most awesome hair salon in Glasgow which basically invented GLITTER ROOTS – remember them? BLOW is not just a hair salon – its a lifestyle! You go in and get served milkshakes, popcorn and sweeties & you can get your hair coloured literally any colour under the sun! It has a HUGE floral peace sign on the wall too! Basically looks like our dreams!
And when BLOWs’ Roisin offered to guest blog for us – again we jumped at the opportunity.
Roisin AKA “Fashion Mermaid” its over to you…..
When Spoiled Brat recently let us raid their candy shop of a clothing warehouse to style our upcoming hair product brand Party Hair (@partyhairuk) we were uncontainable with excitement! The look we wanted was to draw inspiration from playful and quirky Japanese street style with nods to purikura sticker booths and a sugary sweet colour palette to complement our branding.
Spoiled Brat allowed me do a guest blog to rave about our favourite pieces and stylist picks used so you too shop the cutest looks from the site SS17.
First up is this naughty yet oh so nice Local Heroes number. A young brand who have went from small indie label to cult clothing status in two years with a brand philosophy that focuses on having lots of fun in life and making dreams come true (one we can get behind!). With pastels finally back in for SS17 this cheeky little number is one to grab from the Spoiled Brat website before it’s gone for good. Style it up over beach wear or rock the look as a statement piece with jeans and converse.
The Iron Fist My Little Pony shirt is one of the staple pieces in my own wardrobe and it has defiantly been a talking point ever since. Being born in the 1980s I was a massive fan of the series I had everything from a lunch box to the figurines. The fabric is also beautiful and for lazy gals like me easy to care for! This oversized shirt goes perfect under dungarees and with jeans. For a cute festival look team with cute boots and shorts for look that is going to rack up the compliments. Spoiled Brat also have an amazing beach bag of this if you can’t get enough of MLP!
Rounding up another cute pony themed look is the cat suit from Alice Vandy. Alice Vandy’s collection merges together super cute nostalgia and streetwear. We styled our model with space buns whilst rocking this playsuit for an adorable festival look that was out of this world. Spoiled Brat also stock the dress version of this if you feel like showing off your pins! Yeahaa!
Next up a sure hit for the summer was this beautiful white mesh dress from Local Heroes. The super light material is perfect for layering up over a bikini for lazy days eating ice cream by the pool or getting rolled up for a beach bag. The emoji like patches on this one are ridiculously cute especially the peach and the self-love mantra’s!
Big love to the S.B team for sorting out with clothes for the shoot and you can view the shoot and soon by following us at @partyhairuk!
No matter wherever you’re headed in the summer Spoiled Brat have your back for the cutest hand-picked essentials around!
Lavish Alice featured on Lurch Hound Loves Blog
Lavish Alice is features on Lurch Hound Loves latest blog post.
Charlotte (aka Lurch Hound Loves) discusses the knitwear trend for AW16, in her latest blog post, and within it features our Lavish Alice coord – the LA Knitted Culottes and matching Tunic top.
In her own words :
“THE NEW KNITWEAR RULES
Although I am a sun worshipper at heart, nothing fills me with more delight than when the leaves start to brown and fall from their trees and my knitwear collection is unpacked from the attic as I rotate my wardrobe offering from Spring / Summer to Autumn / Winter. Which is a seasonal ritual of mine that I need to factor some time in for ASAP.
Knitwear is cosy, warm and comfortable. It hides a multitude of sins, including food babies and opting for Winter snuggles on the sofa, rather than burning calories in the gym. Knitwear is also the ultimate layering piece and this year knitwear is a style statement too!
It looks as though knitted two pieces – such as this lovely Lavish Alice knitwear culottes and tunic set that I am wearing in this post – are going nowhere and that knitwear has been taken to the max with frills, cut outs and a whole lot of sass this Autumn / Winter.
KNITWEAR TRENDS AW16
Whether you are deciding what knitwear to revive in your wardrobe for the new season, or are looking to invest in some on trend pieces. Below is a run through of the top knitwear fashion trends for Autumn / Winter 2016-2017″
Knitwear has become totally on trend, and can come in all styles now – knitted dresses are great for winter with chunky tights & boots – its not all about knitted jumpers now!

Tallulahs Threads Unicorn Smock Dress seen on The Style Rawr
Our Tallulahs Threads Unicorn Dress gets The Style Rawr Treatment
Jade from The Style Rawr wears our Tallulahs Threads smock dress in her latest blog post.
In Tara’s own words :
“3 words. Unicorn glitter dress. YAS! Long term Rawrgirl faves, Spoiled Brat, are back this season with a whole new range of awesome brands all under one virtual roof. We’ve been wearing Spoiled Brat since this blog began (some 6 years ago) and they never fail to disappoint.
Tallulah’s Threads is one of their latest brands, they produce hand made/finished clothing and accessories for unique girls. The AW16 collection is cuteless overload. From unicorns prints to rainbows and robot prints to planets… I want it ALL. Ever since I got my paws on this adorable Unicorn Glitter Smock Dress, I’ve been prancing around feeling like a unicorn. MAJESTIC.
It’s a little sheer so I wear it with an underslip but this oversized smock is perfect to me. I love wearing pieces which have a little extra room – there’s nothing worse than stuffing your face with Nando’s and then feeling like you’re about to burst out of your clothing. I’m wearing the size small which fits just how I like it. It’s also available with pink glitter unicorns but I personally prefer this black/silver combo.
My only minor gripe is that the unicorns are just on the front of the dress – not that it really matters to me because I can’t see the back, but I was a bit surprised when I opened the packaging – and let’s be honest, the more unicorns the better! I genuinely want the Tallulah’s Threads space dress so bad it hurts a little. The robot dress is a close second. Dear Santa…
If you haven’t been on Spoiled Brat’s new and improved website, you should definitely check it out. They have a whole selection of casual pieces but some pretty special occasionwear too. To me this dress is fun yet quite smart, which is why I paired it with ankle boots and wore it to grab dinner.
Which Tallulah’s Threads item is your fave? I can’t get over how much I love it all!
T – Always be yourself unless you can be a unicorn. Then always be a unicorn“
We really love this look, how Tara has styled it with some simple ankle boots and her trademark hat. The beauty of this dress is it can be dressed up or dressed down. We like it with some chunky tights and boots, and a ragged priest denim jacket for this winter.

The Style Rawr features Iron Fist My Little Pony
Iron Fist My Little Pony, gets the Style Rawr treatment
Can we take a moment to appreciate this : Iron Fist, My Little Pony!!! Argh!!!! And how cute does Jade from The Style Rawr look in this pretty little blouse?!
Jade has been busy getting married, but found the time to style up our Iron Fist blouse in her latest blog post. She has gone for the casual look with this – wearing some skinny jeans and her trust DMs. You could also dress this up tucked into a high waisted skirt perhaps and some heels?
Jade has said about this blouse :
“I’ve always liked a bit of Iron Fist, it’s a fun brand and some of the designs they come out with are just inspired, with this blouse definitely planting it’s hooves in that category! The colours are just amazing, so bright and cheery, and the pattern is of course, delightful. If you’re a die hard Brony like me (I have a collection of Rainbow Dash dolls and watch Friendship Is Magic whenever I can), you have to have this. Everypony (yes I wore it to work!) who sees it can’t help but get excited by the colours and the memories it brings on! The material is a slinky chiffon, but not too see through as you can see here because I only have a nude bra on underneath and it’s invisible. You can’t fault Iron Fist quality, it continues to be strong and worth every penny. I kept it simple here and paired it with double denim and pastel DM’s, but it would look pretty darn cute tucked into a little A-Line skirt and some ankle boots if you prefer a girlier look. If you’re looking for sizing info, I’m a UK12 and this is a size L. I probably could’ve swung the M but I’m a terror for sizing up and this is comfortable for me. If this is your sort of thing you should definitely check out the new look Spoiled Brat. The revamped webby is easy to navigate and the updated brand lines are insanely covetable, taking me back to the days of having a huge want list in my faves bar! ”
We totally agree, IronFist are killing it with their collections and collaborations with 80s iconic brands like My Little Pony and Care Bears! With the new season collection due to drop VERY soon – we advise to brace yourself for more nostagic prints and quirky designs.
Thanks to Jade for a wonderful post xxx

Stephi LaReine wears our Wildfox Tee
Wildfox Grand Canyon Tee : Hot Blogger Pick
Rainbow haired fashion blogger, Stephi LaReine wears our Wildfox Tee in her latest blog post.
In her own words, Stephi says
“So todays outfit was mainly influenced by a lot of music I’m listening to, Lana Del Rey is back in my playlist and therefore in my wardrobe all over again. So let’s think pink heart shaped sunglasses, urban trainers, and ripped denim. My tasseled t-shirt is Wildfox from Spoiled Brat, they always seem to include all my favourite pieces that personify summer. It’s got me a few clicks away from booking my own road trip to the states, that’s how influenced I feel by their collection. “
We personally love this look Stephi is right about Wildfox – I swear the designers are psychic and know exactly how I feel, as their designs totally personify our life!
Stephi has teamed this fun fringed t-shirt, which features a grand canyon graphic on the front, with some cool cut off skinny jeans and colourful nike trainers. The outfit is made by Stephi’s rainbow hair (which we LOVE!) and some cool sunglasses. With September shaping up to be the summer we never had , this look is totally HOT right now. Cool and casual.
