Naomi Millbank Smith wears our Ragged Priest Denim Jacket
Fashion blogger Naomi Millbank Smith wears our Ragged Priest Denim Jacket for Mothers Day.
To celebrate Mothers Day last month, Naomi went out for a day out with her lovely son. She dressed down, looking chic in some skinny jeans a plain white tee, and our Ragged Priest good girl denim jacket with rainbow arm patches, she then completed her look with a fedora hat.
This denim jacket has been one of our best sellers, its another 90s revival look which will never date. The denim jacket is a great investment piece as you can dress it up or dress it down and match it with almost any outfit. Wear it to a festival or wear it to the club, its a real unique and key wardrobe piece that will last for years to come.
Our stylists have said that
“A great denim jacket has a lot of character. It’s not just a classic, it’s remarkably versatile—if you know how to style it the right way. “
And we think Naomi has done a good job, she styled it up simply letting the jacket do all the talking for her outfit. Casual and cool; we love this look.

Katie Price was pictured wearing our Liquor N Poker Bomber Jacket
Miss Katie Price, looked casual wearing our liquor n poker camo print bomber jacket as she arrived earlier today, at the ITV studios in London to celebrate Loose Women’s 2,500th anniversary.
Katie is clearly a 90s gal at heart as she has been seen recently wearing a whole array of the back in fashion 90s favourite bombers. Infact she isnt the only celebrity embracing their inner 90s chic, with even Kendall Jenner and Hailey Baldwin sporting the 90s classic!
We can see why – the bomber jacket is lightweight yet warm (and boy do we need heat right now, snow at the end of April….WTF?!) And the jackets have been given a 2016 update with some cool and quirky prints and badges. They go with anything and are super comfy.
The yummy mummy, paired her liquor n poker bomber jacket with some white shredded joggers and finished the look off with some grey glittery trainers.

90s Grunge Fashion, the Spoiled Brat Way!
Grunge Fashion : Are you a 90s chick? The 90s was a real grunge era, 90s grunge and its back for 2016
If you were just a youngster back then, or maybe not even born, then we will explain to you now what this decade was all about. We were in high school during this era, an era defined for us, by teenage angst, take that & east 17 boy band rivals and lots of underage drinking (nudge nudge , wink wink)
The 90s is however the decade which can be defined by the explosion of youth culture, in a defiant hypercolour of punk grunge fashion, which we are now seeing as a prominent fixture of the fashion in 2016! The 90s and their grunge clothes are well and truly back, and wont be fading away any time soon.
At the end of the 80s, this explosion of youth culture was influences by the acid house music explosion, which swept across the whole of the UK, wiping out everything in its road. Almost immediately the old club get up of Levi’s 501s & Dr Martens, were replaced by badass punk techno neon bright clothes & garage style baggy pants !
The banner of “one nation under a groove” became a prominent fixture, seeing all the old barriers being broken down and bringing people together. Huge crowds gathered, for illegal raves and anyone who could afford the price of a ticket, was welcome! Margaret Thatcher had declared there was “no such thing as society”, but in this period, it felt as if there had been forged , a hedonistic new society of our own.
It’s easy to forget now just how dire things were back in the 90s, but Eastern Europe was rising up, the Berlin wall had fallen and Nelson Mandela finally walked out of prison in South Africa. Although the winds of change had blown out into a gentle breeze by this had reached the UK, it still had an influence. Thatcher was finally moved out as PM, after the poll tax riots, only to be replaced by Mr grey man, John Major who simply continued with Thatchers’ more of the same austerity and blame policy.
It therefore felt like complete fate, that youth culture had burst into a defiant, rebellious, glorious technicolour.
This period could had so many defining and exciting events, like the famous cover of Face Magazine (pictured above), which was published, to celebrate the World Cup in Italy. On the cover, they featured a new, young model from Croydon (none other than Kate Moss), dressed in an Italia 90 scarf and clutching a football. Three months after, they published her again, this time however they put her in a feathered headdress and a goofy smile, in an issue to celebrate the Stone Roses’ gig on Spike Island and the wave of new bands that were hitting the scene.
That cover has since come to represent this new mood and become a symbol for the 90s!
The stylists of this famous shoot say that “Because we were all new, it was hard for us to get designer clothes [to photograph], so we’d go to markets and we’d make up fashion that we liked, We made this kind of grungy style, which made second-hand clothes really fashionable. And it was great, because people didn’t have much money anyway.”
The American youth culture took a little longer to scream its defiance, but when it did come, it came in massive towards the end of ’91 with the oppressive fury of Nirvana’s Smells Like Teen Spirit. Generation X had found its voice in Kurt Cobain and the Seattle grunge scene, and their brand of charity-store chic quickly became the new style for US teens, this being checkered vintage looking shirts, oversized soft grunge cardis and Converse trainers. Meanwhile, the girls had a new role model in Courtney Love, Cobain’s wife and proponent of babydoll nighties worn with tough boots. It all fitted beautifully with the grunge fashion from the UK.
Even the cool A-listers like Johnny Depp, Brad Pitt, Keanu Reeves and River Phoenix were dabbling into this new trend of grunge fashion!
And now the 90s are now back & in a big way and grunge, the decade’s landmark trend, is now cool again. Isnt it time you embraced this too? It really is an easy, fun trend to wear.
When embracing this trend, we recommend to do so with the attitude of Kurt Cobain & Courtney Love, and opt for pieces that have an aged aesthetic, be it through fabric finish or colour palette.
Although the staple items remain the same; checked shirts and ripped stone wash denim, grunge has been given a new twist for right now. T-shirts are given mesh cut-outs to make them feel fresh, punky cropped tops feature on trend quirky slogans and prints, checked shirts have evolved into dresses, and this season’s grunge ankle boot gets a makeover by stud details or vintage finishes. Badass Maxi-skirts should be worn scraping the floor, billowing and with boots, while jewellery should be stacked, all the better to make a statement. Vintage looking playsuits and jumpsuits feature 90s badass prints, with easy to wear cuts. Grunge is defined by a messy, I dont care look – a rebellious look, with an edge to it, topped off with the uniform Dr Martens of course, We love it.
Even now a days the celebs are setting the way for this come-back trend, with the likes of Cara Delevingne, Vanessa Hudgens & Miley Cyrus all indulging themselves in this trend. Festival go-ers, casual every day wear and even going out looks can all encompass this trend. Brands like UNIF, Heart by Nana Judy, Wildfox, The Ragged Priest, Lauren Moshi, MINKPINK , Valfre, One Teaspoon, and even Zoe Karssen dip their toes into the Anarchy of the 90s era. Lucky for you, we have our very own dedicated sections on our website for grunge clothing online.
We have compiled a load of styles below for you to pick from, which you can mix and match with other trends. Have fun with your fashion, this 90s trend is one that is here to stay for some time.
UNIF is a brand that is going places!
Unif Clothing creates a totally badass lifestyle brand from La La Land, which has well and truly shaken up the fashion community, with their grunge esthetics and underground techno influences; this brand is seriously kicking some of the mainstream fashion butt.
UNIF was brought to the UK by us at Spoiled Brat; as with Wildfox we were the first UK stockist of the UNIF Brand– we have stocked the brand since 2009 would you believe? The brand immediately caught our attention for its badass attitude, grunge 90s styles all which it mixes perfectly with quirky girly styles too! Unif has since hit the UK big time, last year (2015) with several big retailers getting in on the action too, and the blogging world is going crazy for this fun brand – with a huge posse of fashion bloggers featuring UNIF Fashion in their posts, this brand is one to watch!
Fashion blogger Kayla Hadlington has been working with us on quite a few UNIF style posts – she is a massive fan of this out there brand & her latest looks are awesome featuring our tie-dye crochet UNIF dress. She has thrown together 2 looks which on paper shouldnt work – but in reality they have totally bowled us away – grunge rock chick mashed in with girly princess!
UNIF’s founder Eric Espinoza started his career as a Hollywood DJ , but he was quickly drawn towards fashion. It wasnt long before he was exchanging his decks , for backyard hand dying and sewing. His aim for the brand was and still is not to be “mainstream or the next Dior” and is founded on his backyard style and grunge ethics.
One of the most alluring things about UNIF clothing is their darker approach to fashion. Their tops and tees are perfectly shredded, to create that “worn to death” vintage look and feel and feature their famous buttery soft wash which feels amazing to wear. Another thing we love about UNIF fashion is their mixing up for styles and trends – they pull a streetwear style, mixed in with some 90s grunge, a dash of rock chick & some underground aesthetic, but they also arent afraid to add some girly pinks and cutsey prints. There is literally something for everyone in the unique UNIF collections.
Our stylists say “Girls who want to stand out, not fit in! Rebels without a cause – then UNIF clothes are for you!”
Shop UNIF now at Spoiled Brat in our online UNIF Store – we even have some really cool UNIF SALE items which are not to be missed 🙂

Chloe Sims films TOWIE in Lauren Moshi
TOWIE’s Chloe Sims was pictured today filming an Easter inspired theme for the show. Instead of going for the cute and girly, Easter theme – Chloe opted for a real rock chick look, teaming our Lauren Moshi “Pump up the Jam” graffiti style top with some skinny jeans, a biker jacket and some fun bunny ears.
Chloe’s style has evolved since she has been on the show, and she is now a style icon in her own right. She loves to experiment with her look and she is a real champion of the grunge 90s look and also the rock chick look. We think she is absolutely killing it in the style stakes and is for us, the top fashionista on the show! Always getting it right and on trend with her looks – Chloe is the girl to watch!
Like her look? This Lauren Moshi tank is super shredead with rips and tears for that real rock edge, and it features embroidered graffiti style slogan straight out of the 90s “Pump Up the Jam”
